Cropster

Cropster is a software platform for coffee roasteries covering roast profile logging, green coffee inventory, sample management, and quality control. It integrates directly with most commercial roasting machines (including IKAWA and ROEST) to capture real-time roast data and enable reproducible profiling across batches and machines. Scott Rao recommends data-logging software such as Cropster as indispensable for applying the Three Commandments — it tracks and displays Rate of Rise in real time, making profile management visible rather than intuitive. (source: The Coffee Roaster’s Companion by Scott Rao (2014))

CSAR — Coffee Sample and Roast Management

Cropster CSAR (Coffee Sample and Roast) is a module for sample-scale roasting workflows — tracking origin samples, roast parameters, cupping scores, and purchasing decisions across a buying cycle. At time of the IKAWA crawl (May 2026), IKAWA was in an invitational beta for Cropster CSAR integration — exportable IKAWA roast data flows directly into the Cropster sample record. The integration is free during beta; post-beta pricing is handled by Cropster and based on the number of samples roasted per month. (source: IKAWA (website))

Relevance to Kaiserblick

A production roaster with Cropster integration would give Kaiserblick’s roasting operation real-time ROR monitoring and a permanent roast log — necessary for the light-to-medium micro-lot profiling approach led by Roxanne Fredericksen. CSAR integration with an IKAWA or ROEST sample roaster would additionally enable systematic sample tracking from green buying through cupping decisions.
