19grams Coffee Roasters

19grams Coffee Roasters is a Berlin-based specialty roaster founded in 2002 — one of Germany’s earliest specialty operations. The company was originally called Tres Cabezas; Australian colleagues renamed it 19grams after the standard 19 g dose for a double espresso. Owners are Sascha Spittel and Gerrit Peters. The roastery and lab are located at Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 13, Berlin Mitte (Alexanderplatz); 19grams operates four cafés across the city (Alex, Boxi, Chaussee, Schlesi). The brand’s tagline is “Bloody Good Coffee — seit 2002.”

Sourcing philosophy

19grams operates a direct trade, seasonal sourcing model. They travel to origin, build long-term relationships with producers (“auf Augenhöhe”), and adjust the product range to harvest cycles — “nature sets the offer, not demand.” Origins include Costa Rica, Colombia, Panama, Brazil, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi, Indonesia, China, and El Salvador.

19grams is a member of the Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) and participates in international Cup of Excellence juries every year. They purchase winning lots through the ACE online auction — indicating appetite for premium, competition-certified green coffee.

El Salvador — active programme

19grams has a dedicated El Salvador collection. As of the crawl date (May 2026), two SKUs were in stock:

Two additional El Salvador SKUs were listed as out of stock, suggesting a recurring programme with multiple lots per season.

⚠️ Potential Los Tres Potros overlap with OR Coffee

OR Coffee Roasters sources from Finca Los 3 Potros (Carlos Mendes, Ataco, Ahuachapán) since 2018. The 19grams product is called Los Tres Potros and is also listed as Ahuachapán-area (Apaneca). These may be the same farm under a slightly different spelling, or two farms in the same region with similar names. If they are the same farm, 19grams and OR Coffee are sourcing the same Salvadoran producer — both would then be existing customers rather than clean-slate prospects. Kaiserblick should clarify this before outreach and, if confirmed, position as a supplier from a different estate (Apaneca-Ilamatepec highlands, different varieties, washed and honey processing options in addition to natural).

Roasting and product range

19grams positions primarily around light filter roasts and modern espresso, with a secondary range of darker roasts for super-automatics (Vollautomaten). Product collections:

  • Single-origin filter — seasonal lots, light roast
  • Single-origin espresso — modern / fruity espresso style
  • Raritäten — rare and Geisha lots; premium tier
  • Classics — flagship blends (Italo Disco, Wild at Heart); subscription-eligible
  • Rockstar Coffee Club — monthly curated rare lot subscription (€172/kg equivalent)
  • Special editions — limited seasonal releases

Recycled single-material packaging (no composite materials).

B2B and wholesale

19grams operates dedicated B2B programmes for cafés and offices:

  • Café wholesale: machine pairing, barista training, personalised service; contact wholesale@19grams.coffee or +49 17670691150
  • Office coffee: subscription delivery, machine supply, white-labeling (custom logo on bags)
  • Free samples: available via b2b.19grams.coffee
  • Wholesale portal: b2b.19grams.coffee; order cut-off Tuesday 14:00 for same-week roast and dispatch

Fit for Kaiserblick

HIGH fit. Key factors:

  • Active El Salvador buyer — an established El Salvador programme shows market knowledge and appetite for the origin; they understand the flavour logic of Salvadoran Pacamara
  • COE-engaged — ACE membership and annual COE jury participation signals quality focus and premium willingness-to-pay; a competition-winning lot from Kaiserblick would resonate
  • Direct trade philosophy aligned — matches Kaiserblick’s model; no intermediary preference barrier
  • Light filter and modern espresso orientation — aligns with Kaiserblick’s roasting focus
  • Berlin base — reachable for tastings and visits; roastery open Mon–Fri 9–18, Sat–Sun 10–18
  • No organic certification requirement detected — no evidence on site of an EU BIO requirement (contrast: Coffee Pirates Vienna)
  • Los Tres Potros uncertainty — if 19grams and OR Coffee source the same farm, position Kaiserblick as an additional/alternative supplier from different estates; if different farm, Kaiserblick has a clean entry path with complementary lots (washed/honey, different varieties, Apaneca highlands altitude)

WoC Brussels 2026 (June 25–27): As a major German specialty roaster with direct-trade sourcing, 19grams is a likely WoC attendee. Priority at the show.
