Sucafina is a global green coffee trading company headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. It is one of the world’s largest specialty and commercial green coffee traders, operating across origin countries (sourcing), consuming markets (sales), and logistics. Sucafina connects producers and exporters with roasters and importers worldwide.
Sucafina operates regional arms including Sucafina NA (North America), Sucafina Europe, and others, and publishes market reports, origin interviews, and harvest updates through their public news channels.
Relationship with Odyssey Coffees
Sucafina is a trading partner of Odyssey Coffees, confirmed in a October 2023 interview with Emilio López Díaz (CEO). At the time of the interview, Sucafina was handling Odyssey coffees for the Australian market with a US shipment also in progress. Sucafina describes Odyssey as a partner they are “proud to partner with.”
This positions Sucafina as one of Odyssey’s international distribution channels alongside their direct relationships with roasters.
Relevance to Kaiserblick
Sucafina is a potential distribution channel or trading partner for Kaiserblick Specialty Coffee. As a large trader with global reach, Sucafina would be relevant if Kaiserblick seeks to move volume through established trading infrastructure rather than exclusively through direct relationships. However, Sucafina’s focus is on established producers with track records — early-stage positioning may be premature. Needs further research into Sucafina’s producer onboarding process and El Salvador presence.
