Frekko

Sources: Frekko (website)

Frekko is a Dutch specialty micro roastery and premium espresso equipment retailer based near Breda, Netherlands. It was founded by “Freek” — a personal brand that began when he inherited an espresso machine and couldn’t find a DF64 grinder to buy, so he started importing and selling it himself. Coffee roasting was added in 2022 and has grown alongside the equipment business.

Frekko’s identity is built around personal service (“persoonlijk advies via WhatsApp”), weekly fresh-roasted coffee, and making specialty coffee and equipment accessible to home baristas and local hospitality.

Green coffee sourcing

Frekko buys green coffee through importers, not directly from producers. Their stated sourcing philosophy: “organisations with fair prices, few intermediaries, and good quality.” This means Kaiserblick would need to be stocked by Frekko’s existing supply chain partners — or pitch a direct relationship that differs from their current model.

Equipment business

The equipment side is large and appears to be a core revenue driver:

  • Espresso machines: ECM (Puristika, etc.), La Marzocco, Profitec, Ascaso, Gaggia, AVX, Arkel
  • Grinders: DF Coffeegrinders (DF64 Gen 2.5, DF54 V4), La Marzocco, Mahlkönig, Eureka, ECM, Varia, 1Zpresso, Profitec, AVX
  • Accessories: VST baskets, dosing funnels, barista scales, maintenance products

Price points up to €1,399 (ECM Puristika). Frekko is an official dealer for ECM and likely others.

Fit assessment for Kaiserblick

⚠️ Fit reassessment: Originally classified HIGH-fit in Theia’s European Buyer Landscape research. Based on website evidence, this appears LOW fit for Kaiserblick’s green coffee export strategy.

FactorAssessment
GeographyBreda / Netherlands — core Kaiserblick export market
Green coffee buying modelVia importers — NOT direct from producers
El Salvador in rangeNo — clean-slate, but no Central America programme
ScaleVery small (single weekly roast day)
Price tierEntry-level specialty (€46–€68/kg retail)
Organic requirementNot mentioned
WoC Brussels 2026 attendanceUnknown
B2B channel activeYes — local NL hospitality

Why LOW fit for green coffee export: Frekko does not buy directly from producing farms; they source through intermediaries. Pitching a green coffee supply relationship would require changing their sourcing model, not just filling an origin gap.

Possible alternative angle: Frekko could be a distribution partner for Kaiserblick’s roasted coffee in the Netherlands market (serving their B2B hospitality clients), not a green coffee buyer. This is a different channel and a longer-term consideration.

Recommended action: Deprioritise for WoC 2026 green coffee outreach. If Netherlands roasted-coffee distribution ever becomes a priority, revisit via their B2B contact.
