Fundiciones Industriales Jotagallo S.A. is a Colombian agricultural machinery manufacturer headquartered in Pereira, Risaralda, with 90+ years of history. The company operates two business lines: Industrial Foundry and Agricultural Machinery. Its coffee product range includes depulpers, BECOLSUB integrated wet mills, and ECOMILL® washing systems — the same Cenicafé-standardised designs also made by JM Estrada, of which Jotagallo is an independent manufacturer. Jotagallo claims exports to Central America but has no documented distributor or service agent in El Salvador or Central America.

BECOLSUB and ECOMILL: Cenicafé Designs

BECOLSUB (“Beneficio Ecológico y Manejo de Subproductos”) and ECOMILL are standardised designs developed by Cenicafé (Colombia’s national coffee research institute). Multiple Colombian manufacturers — including Jotagallo and JM Estrada — produce their own versions of these systems. They are industry standard formats, not proprietary to any single company.

BECOLSUB: Integrated depulper + rotary classifier (zaranda) + mechanical mucilage remover (Deslim). Uses traditional fermentation followed by mechanical finishing. Not a zero-water system. Jotagallo BECOLSUB-300 is a direct alternative to the Penagos ECOLINE-400.

ECOMILL®: Water-reduced washing system licensed from Cenicafé. Reduces water consumption by 97%+ vs. traditional washing while retaining natural fermentation. Performance equivalent to JM Estrada ECOMILL (same Cenicafé design).

Assessment for Kaiserblick

Jotagallo is a lower-cost Colombian alternative to JM Estrada for BECOLSUB and ECOMILL equipment. The product range overlaps significantly, and both implement the same Cenicafé-standardised designs. Key comparison points:

  • JM Estrada has been established since 1865 (vs. Jotagallo ~90 years); both are credible Colombian manufacturers
  • Jotagallo claims Central America exports but provides no documented service network there — direct procurement from Colombia factory only
  • No El Salvador distributor or installation on record

At this stage, JM Estrada remains the better-documented option for direct Colombia procurement; Jotagallo is a secondary reference for price comparison if JM Estrada is too slow or expensive.

  • JM Estrada — primary documented alternative Colombian manufacturer (same product categories)
  • Penagos — competing wet mill candidate; ECOLINE-400 is Jotagallo BECOLSUB-300’s main competitor
  • Wet Milling Equipment — equipment context
