Chronic.
Swiss specialty roaster and B Corp certified company based in French-speaking Switzerland. Markets itself as an ethical, bio, and Fairtrade-committed roaster. Hard certification barrier: every coffee in their range must be both EU organic (Bio) and Fairtrade certified — no exceptions stated explicitly on their website.

Certification requirement — hard barrier
Chronic.’s sustainability page states explicitly:
“Tous nos cafés sont certifiés biologiques et équitables, sans exception. On ne fait pas de compromis : si un café n’est pas Bio & Fairtrade, il ne rentre tout simplement pas dans notre gamme.”
Translation: “All our coffees are certified organic and fair trade, without exception. We don’t compromise: if a coffee is not Bio & Fairtrade, it simply doesn’t enter our range.”
This means Kaiserblick would need both:
- EU organic certification (e.g., via an accredited EU organic certifier)
- Fairtrade certification (Fairtrade International or equivalent)
Neither certification is currently held by Kaiserblick. This makes Chronic. a long-term target only.
Note: Chronic.’s stated future direction includes developing direct trade and blockchain traceability — these could eventually create a pathway that bypasses traditional certification requirements, but that future is uncertain and distant.

WoC Brussels 2026 outreach notes
- Fit level: LOW — double certification barrier (EU organic + Fairtrade) makes this not viable near-term
- Do not prioritise unless Kaiserblick has obtained or is pursuing both certifications
- Long-term angle: If Kaiserblick pursues organic certification (already in organic transition at Finca San Cayetano) and Fairtrade, Chronic. becomes a viable target — especially given their stated future interest in direct trade and blockchain traceability
- Parallel note: Chronic. is not in the German market — Swiss-only brand; does not help Kaiserblick’s German outreach strategy
